✦ New — Stock
Know how many days of stock you actually have left
Units on hand, recent sales pace, and days of inventory remaining — per variant, so restocks and dead stock are visible before they cost you sales.
What the Stock report shows
For every variant, Juicy combines the vendor, units sold in the last 30 days, units currently on hand, days of inventory remaining, and the date it last sold — one row per SKU, sortable by any column.
How days of inventory is calculated
units on hand ÷ average units sold per day, using the last 30 days as the sales pace.A variant with 300 units on hand selling 10 a day has roughly 30 days left. One with plenty on hand but almost no recent sales shows a very high number, flagging dead stock instead of a healthy buffer. A negative number means the recent sales pace has already outpaced what's marked as on hand: the variant is effectively oversold or backordered right now, not in a few days.
Why days of inventory matters more than "units on hand"
A stock count alone doesn't tell you whether to reorder today or in three months. Pairing it with recent sales pace does.
Bestsellers run out quietly
A fast-moving variant with plenty of units on hand can still be days away from a stockout if it's selling faster than it's being restocked.
Dead stock hides in plain sight
High on-hand counts with almost no recent sales tie up cash and warehouse space without showing up as an obvious problem.
Reorder timing, not guessing
Knowing days of inventory per variant means restock orders can be timed against real depletion, not a fixed calendar reminder.
Grouped by vendor
Each row shows the vendor, so restocking decisions can be batched by supplier instead of checked product by product.
FAQ
What is days of inventory in Shopify?
Days of inventory (also called days of stock cover) estimates how many more days a variant's current stock will last, based on its recent sales pace. Juicy calculates it per variant from units on hand and units sold over the last 30 days, so merchants can see which variants are about to run out and which are overstocked, without checking each product manually.
How is days of inventory calculated?
It's based on units currently on hand divided by the recent daily sales rate for that variant, using the last 30 days of sales as the pace. A variant with 300 units on hand selling 10 a day has roughly 30 days of inventory left. As the sales pace or stock level changes, the number updates.
What does negative days of inventory mean?
A negative number means recent sales have already outpaced what's marked as on hand for that variant — it's effectively oversold or backordered relative to demand. It's worth restocking immediately or checking for a data mismatch between Shopify's inventory count and actual available stock.
Can I see stock levels by vendor or supplier?
Yes. Juicy's Stock report includes the vendor for each variant alongside units sold, units on hand, days of inventory, and last sold date, so you can group restocking decisions by supplier instead of checking products one at a time.
