✦ New: Agency fees
Count your agency fees in your Shopify profit
Your agency charges a percentage of your ad spend, a fixed retainer, or both. Juicy subtracts it from your net profit every day, per platform, so your profit shows what your marketing really costs.
Why agency fees go missing from most profit reports
Meta, Google, and TikTok only report what you paid them. Your agency invoices you separately, so the fee never shows up next to your ad spend, and a profit dashboard that only reads ad platforms will overstate what you earn.
Ad platforms don't know about your agency
Ad spend syncs automatically. The percentage or retainer your agency adds on top doesn't, unless you put it somewhere.
Percentage fees grow as you scale
When an agency takes a share of ad spend, every budget increase raises the fee too. A campaign that looks profitable on ad spend alone can lose money once the fee is counted.
Retainers land as one big invoice
A monthly retainer booked once in your accounting makes daily and weekly profit look better than it is for the rest of the month.
Terms change over time
New agency, new percentage, a different retainer. Historical profit is only right if each period uses the fee that was actually charged.
How to calculate your agency fee
Most agencies charge in one of three ways: a percentage of ad spend, a fixed fee per month (sometimes per week or day), or both combined. The total for any period is the same simple sum.
ad spend × fee % + fixed fee for the periodExample: one month with a 10% fee and a $1,500 retainer
| Ad spend (Meta + Google) | $20,000 |
| Agency fee: 10% of ad spend | $2,000 |
| Agency fee: monthly retainer | $1,500 |
| Total agency fee | $3,500 |
| Net profit before agency fee | $9,000 |
| Net profit after agency fee | $5,500 |
In this example, the agency fee takes 39% of the month's profit, and every $1 of ad spend actually costs about $1.18. A report that leaves the fee out would show $3,500 more profit than the store made.
Agency fees hit net profit, not ROAS
In Juicy, ROAS and the other ad metrics stay based on your ad spend alone, so they line up with what Meta, Google, and your agency report. The agency fee is subtracted from net profit instead. You keep comparable ad numbers and still see the full cost of your marketing in your profit, by day, week, or month.
How to add an agency fee in Juicy
It takes about a minute. You add the agency's terms once, and Juicy applies them to every day in the period, past and future.
-
Open Settings → Finances → Agency fees
Agency fees sit next to your other costs, like expenses, order costs, shipping, and 3PL.
-
Click Add agency fee
You can add as many agencies as you work with, for example one for Meta and another for Google.
-
Enter the agency's terms and save
The form shows a summary of the fee as you fill it in.
- Agency name: a name to recognize the fee by.
- Period: the start and end date of the agreement. Leave both empty to charge the fee on all dates.
- Fee: one percentage of ad spend for all platforms, a different percentage per platform, or no percentage if the agency only charges a fixed fee.
- Fixed fee: an amount per day, week, or month, on top of the percentage or instead of it. Periods start on the start date, and nothing is booked after the end date or after today. An amount in another currency is converted at the rate of the first day of each period.
- Save: Juicy updates the fee for every date in the period, including past ones. It takes a few seconds.

FAQ
What is an agency fee for a Shopify store?
An agency fee is what a marketing agency charges to run your ads on platforms like Meta, Google, or TikTok. It is usually a percentage of your ad spend, a fixed monthly retainer, or both. Because it is paid to the agency and not to the ad platform, it does not appear in Shopify or in your ad platform reports, so it has to be added separately to see your real profit.
How do I calculate an agency fee based on ad spend?
Multiply your ad spend by the agency's percentage, then add any fixed retainer for the same period. For example, $20,000 in monthly ad spend at a 10% fee is $2,000. With a $1,500 monthly retainer on top, the total agency fee for the month is $3,500.
Should agency fees be included in ROAS?
In Juicy, ROAS and the other ad metrics stay based on your ad spend alone, so they match what Meta, Google, and your agency report. The agency fee is subtracted from net profit instead. This keeps ROAS comparable across tools while your profit still shows the full cost of marketing.
Can I set a different agency fee for Meta and Google?
Yes. Choose "Different fee per platform" and set a separate percentage for each ad platform, for example 10% on Meta and 8% on Google. Juicy supports Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, and Microsoft Ads. A platform without a percentage is not charged.
What if my agency charges a fixed monthly retainer?
Turn on "Charge a fixed fee" and enter the amount per day, week, or month. It can be added on top of a percentage or used on its own by choosing "No percentage". Periods start on the start date, nothing is booked after the end date or after today, and an amount in another currency is converted at the rate of the first day of each period.
What happens when I switch agencies or renegotiate the fee?
Set an end date on the current agency fee and add a new one with a start date. Each agreement then applies only to its own period, so your historical profit keeps the fee that was actually charged at the time.
Does adding an agency fee update my past profit?
Yes. Saving an agency fee updates every date in its period, including past ones, usually within a few seconds. If you leave the dates empty, the fee applies to all dates.
